A young man was killed while over a dozen others injured in an armed clash between two groups at a weekly Bazaar in Baldia Town here on Friday. The scuffle, which had started between two persons over some petty issue, turned violent when their supporters also joined the fight, leaving a person namely Naeem, 28, son of Rozi Khan dead while six others including a cop Shaukat Zaman, Salah Bibi, Imran Younus, Zahid, Yar Mohammad and Razzak injured, police and eyewitnesses said.
Tension engulfed several parts of Baldia town after the incident. Heavy contingent of law enforcers rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Police said the deceased and the injured had been shifted to Civil Hospital. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead at Mohammadi Market G area Malir within the limits of Khokhrapar Police Station. The victim, Ramzan Niazi son of Ali, a resident of E-2 area, Malir, was targeted at a market. He received two bullets and died on the spot. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Police said the victim used to run a fish shop in Mohammadi Market. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, a bullet-riddled body of a youth was recovered near KMC work shop in the limits of Eidgah Police Station. The victim could not be identified. Police said the victim had received two bullets on his upper torso. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) and later moved to Edhi Morgue.
