A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday extended interim bail of three accused, involved in Rs 1.38billion forex-cum-property scam, till August 16. The accused including former provincial minister Iqbal Tikka Iqbal, Rana Muhammad Azam and Muhammad Khan Tikka were involved in Qasre Zauq banquet hall property scam.
Qasr-e-Zauq scam came into limelight in the Supreme Court in December last year when two real estate dealers Sheikh Ayub and his son Mohsin Ayub approached the apex court for bail. Ayub contended that he was kidnapped by some very influential persons of the town during which they forced him to sign the documents in their favour in relation to the ownership of the said property. Upon this the SC had ordered NAB to probe the matter and book everyone involved in the alleged offence and name of the said three accused were also figured in the charges.
