Independence Day to be celebrated with enthusiasm

As Independence Day is around the corner, all set to observe the day with zeal and enthusiasm at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The special programmes and arrangements have been mapped out to commemorate the moments of independence.
The Day is memorable for every Pakistani on earth, as it is the time, when Pakistan gained Independence from the clutches of Britain. The bi-coloured flag of Pakistan was given its due respect, when it was hoisted on August 14, 1947. Cultural programmes and flag-hoisting ceremonies are the predominant affair of the day to symbolize freedom. People indulge themselves in remembering the heroes of the freedom struggle and pay homage to them.
The members of a committee constituted for the celebrations at the UAF are Principal Officer, Public Relations and Publication (PRP) Professor Dr Jalal Arif, UAF Registrar Muhammad Hussain, Estate Officer Shahzad Mahmood and Laboratory High School Headmaster Muhammad Akram.
At the UAF, the day 14 August will open with the prayers for the prosperity of the country at Central Mosque at 8:00am in which scores will participate. After that at 8:45, flag-hoisting ceremony will be held that will be administrated by UAF Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan at Iqbal Auditorium.
The university also brings eye-catching performance of the kids as students from the Laboratory High School will present colourful skits before a large gathering to showcase their love for the country. The atmosphere of the university will be sounded by Mili Nagmas to be presented by the children. It is also matter of the pride for the university that the children from Day Care Centre and special children will also become the performers of the skits.
