Third bank heist during Ramazan: robbers loot Rs 1.36 million from bank

At least four unidentified armed robbers looted around Rs 1.36 million from the branch of a private bank in a broad daylight on Friday. This was the third incident of bank heist during the holy month of Ramazan.
The armed robbers entered the branch of a private bank situated in the jurisdiction of Gulberg Police Station at around 12:00 noon and held the employees hostages at gunpoint, Police said adding that the robbers completed their operation within five minutes and managed to escape from the scene.
The robbers took away around Rs 1.36 million from the cash counter, Police said adding that they did not take any other valuables from the bank. They said that although the robbers had tried to destroy the security cameras, they were working properly. The police had collected the CCTV footages and initiated formal investigation into the case. They said an FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the Bank Manager.
Meanwhile, SHO Gulberg Fasihuddin said that four armed robbers, who came on bikes, entered the branch of a private bank located at Gulberg, Block 4 and held the security guards and staff hostages at gunpoint. He said that police had received CCTV footages of the robbers, who ran away with some Rs 1.36 million. He said that police had so far not detained any security guard for interrogation because as per CCTV footages, they were found innocent in the robbery.
