Parliamentary team to leave for India on August 17

A 19-member multi-party parliamentary delegation will leave for India on August 17 to participate in the second round of Pakistan-India parliamentarians dialogue facilitated by Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT). The two-day dialogue will be held on August 18-19 in New Delhi where Pakistani parliamentarians will interact with their Indian counterparts in New Delhi on issues that impact the relations of both countries, said a press release.
Deputy Chairman of Senate Jan Mohammad Khan Jamali and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi will co-lead the Pakistan delegation while seasoned parliamentarians from Pakistan and India, Senator S M Zafar (Punjab-PML) and Yashwant Sinha, former Union Minister for External Affairs and Finance, India (Jharkhand, BJP) will co-chair the Pakistan-India Parliamentarians Dialogue-II. The initiative spearheaded by parliamentarians from both the countries is to engage with each other at the public representatives' level so as to strengthen people-to-people contact for peace and stability in the region.
