Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government set to celebrate Independence Day

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to observe Independence Day in quite a befitting manner by holding a variety of programmes and events in the province. According to the schedule, the day will begin with 21 cannon salute in the provincial metropolis and hoisting national flag at 9.00am on all public and private buildings.
Special prayers will be offered in all the major mosques and other places of worships, while sweets will be distributed among orphans in Darul Aman along-with special distribution of meal for prisoners in the province.
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, governor and chief minister will host special reception in the provincial metropolis and will also attend national flag hoisting ceremonies. Photo exhibitions and special documentaries regarding Pakistan Movement will also be held in different public and private departments. Similarly, Naat, Qirat, debate, essay competitions would also be organised at different levels.
Moreover, public sector educational institutions will hold exhibitions of documentary films for school children and general public on the occasion. Peshawar cultural Mushaira will also be held to focus on the sacrifices of the Muslims during the freedom movement.
