SEDF to stabilise rural economy: Motiwala

Establishment of Sindh Enterprises Development Fund (SEDF) by the Sindh government is a bold step of the provincial government as it would bring stability to the rural economy, said Chairman Sindh Investment Board (SIB), Zubair Motiwala on Friday.
The Chairman SIB was addressing a meeting pertaining to the SEDF, said a statement. The SEDF would help to increase income generation opportunities for the growers as well as it would also generate more employment openings in the rural areas, he noted. He said it is achievement of the Sindh government that it has given subsidy on agriculture and livestock sectors, which, he said has given promotion to the livestock and dairy farming. The SEDF would provide interest-free loans for three to five years terms for the projects in this regard, he added.
The meeting also approved seven projects, which include installation of plants in Gadap town, Gotki, Larkana, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Dhabejee and Khairpur districts. Earlier, the meeting was briefed by the Sindh Secretary SBI, Younis Dhagha about details of the projects and highlighted the advantages of the same. Among others the meeting was attended by representative of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Shahida Qaiser.
