Wapda celebrates Independence Day

Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) officials celebrated Independence Day with national zeal in the length and breadth of the country. The main ceremony in this regard, was held at Wapda Auditorium, Wapda House, Lahore. Chairman Wapda Shakil Durrani was the chief guest, who accompanied by Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) Managing Director Rasul Khan Mahsud unfurled the national flag.
Following that students belonging to various Wapda schools and the participants sung the national anthem. Speeches delivered by the selected students highlighted the importance of freedom, and responsibilities to safeguarding this blessing.
Later, Wapda Chairman and Pepco MD gave away prizes to the students, who sung 'milli nagmas' and delivered speeches. Gifts were also presented to the children of deceased employees of Wapda and Pepco. Wapda Member (Finance) Syed Nazakat Ali Shah, Managing Director (Administration) Naved Akram Cheema and Secretary Wapda Imtiaz Tajwar were also present on the occasion.
