TTP Swat commander arrested

The Law enforcement agencies arrested a commander of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat Chapter from the Federal Capital on Saturday, foiling a major plot to undertake terrorist act on the eve of 64th Independence Day, it was learnt on Sunday.
Bakht Farzand, who was carrying a head money Rs30 million, was wanted by the law enforcement agencies and was arrested from Sector G-9 of the Federal Capital during a successful operation on Saturday, a day earlier Independence Day celebrations, informed sources told Business Recorder.
Bakht Farzand was a Taliban commander in Matta, Swat and was considered a close aide to Molvi Fazlullah of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Swat-chapter, whose father and brother were killed by some criminals and following which he had joined the banned outfit in retaliation.
The operation was conducted by the intelligence agencies and the detained terrorist was shifted to unknown place where he is being interrogated.
The sources said that during the initial investigations Farzand had revealed some information upon which two more suspected terrorists were arrested from Koral area of the federal capital whose identity was yet to be known.
Police sources, however, did not confirm any arrest as the operation was conducted by intelligence agencies.
It is pertinent to mention here that on the same day, the law enforcement agencies arrested two more terrorists from Nelore area of the Capital who were allegedly involved in Bari Imam suicide attack and assassination of religious clerk from Gilgit Baltistan Agha Zia-ud-Din in 2005.
