Cultural show marks 65th Independence Day

Children and youngsters from educational and art institutions of twin cities performed in a colourful cultural show here Sunday to celebrate the 65th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) organised the show, in which the participants sung national songs, presented tableau and delivered speeches to highlight the significance of the day. Through tableau, the students of Bright Land School, Chaudhry Rahmat Memorial School and Rising Rose school portrayed the events of Pakistan movement and raised awareness regarding the importance of education for progress and prosperity of the country.
The segment of `Milly Naghmay', invited the students to present melodious national songs highlighting the spirit of patriotism. The tunes of national songs including `Aye Watan Pyaray Watan', `Hum Zinda Qaum Hain', `Jeevay Pakistan' and `Ya Watan Tumhara Hai' were played. Later, shields and certificates were distributed among the participants of the programme.
