The rupee was unmoved versus dollar on the interbank market, while it failed to retain its level in relation to the greenback on the open market, dealers said. The rupee maintained its weekend level in terms of the greenback for buying and selling at 86.64 and 86.68, they said.
The target was likely to be a little over 1.10 francs per euro so that the SNB can gradually raise it, the Sonntags Zeitung said on Sunday.
The euro surged 3.3 percent to 1.14400, pulling further away from a record low of 1.00750 franc hit last week on trading platform EBS. The dollar also rallied against Swiss franc, surging 2.7 percent to 0.79883.
The dollar was available against Indian rupee at Rs 45.34, the US currency was available versus the Malaysian ringgit at 2.9810 and the greenback was at 6.392 versus the Chinese yuan.
