US MIDDAY: sugar rises

Raw sugar rallied more than 4 percent early on Wednesday, while arabica coffee surged more than 10 cents a lb to a one-month high, as outside market support lifted the commodity complex and world equities climbed. October raw sugar on ICE surged 1.13 cent, or 4 percent, to 29.17 cents by 12:21 pm EDT (1621 GMT). December arabica coffee on ICE jumped 9.35 cent, or 3.7 percent, to $2.6435 per lb.
December cocoa on ICE settled up $50, or 1.7 percent, at $3,039 a tonne.
