Short water supply to DHA Karachi: MD WBKC directed to appear before National Assembly committee

The National Assembly's Sub-Committee on Defence directed the Managing Director Water Board Karachi Cantonment (WBKC) through the Ministry of Defence to appear before the committee in next session and explain the reason behind the short supply of water to DHA Karachi.
Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur convened the meeting with one point agenda 'short supply of water to DHA by KW & SB against their commitment and illegal sale of water through water bowers'. The committee members expressed their anger on the absence of director water board and directed him to appear in the next session or face the consequences. The committee further directed that all the expenses of the committee's session would be deducted from his salary.
On a question of Mir Amir Ali Magsi, project director DHA said that leasing out land for building gun club has been under process. In his ruling, Convenor Nawab Abdul Ghani said that the issue of shortage of water and flooding in the streets of DHA in monsoon season must be resolved. He further said that the number of tankers deputed on supply of water must be increased. Hayat Mahar, Cantt Executive Officer said that presently 800 water tankers have been deputed on daily basis.
