Taiwan stocks fell 1.64 percent on Thursday, posting their worst percentage loss in nearly two weeks, led by Acer and other PC makers as a cautious outlook from Dell sparked jitters over the outlook for US and European tech spending.
Acer, the world's No 2 PC vendor, was off 5.65 percent, while computer and peripherals shares fell 1.75 percent. The slide came after shares of HP and Dell dropped in US trading. The main TAIEX index closed 126.79 points or 1.64 percent lower at 7,614.97. Among the most hit sectors, construction and food were down 2.59 percent and 2.08 percent, respectively.
