As many as 20 bills of the government are ready for approval from the National Assembly, it is learnt. According to National Assembly Secretariat sources, various Standing Committees of the Lower House of the Parliament have passed 20 bills. These bills are ready for passage from the National Assembly till 33rd session, 2011.
According to a copy of titles of the bills is available with Business Recorder the bills included, 'The Banks (Nationalisation) (Amendment) Bill, 2010, The Anti-Dumping Duties (Amendment) Bill, 2009, The National Commission for Human Development (Amendment) Bill, 2009, Federal Public Service Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2009, The Registration (Amendment) Bill, 2010, The Guardian and Words (Amendment) Bill, 2009, The Family Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2009, The Press, Newspaper, news Agencies and Books Registration (Amendment) Bill, 2008 and The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2008 are ready for approval from the Lower House of the Parliament.
Similarly, The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2007, The Federal Public Service Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2009, The Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2009 and The Women in Distress and Detention Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2010 are waiting for passage from the National Assembly.
The Standing Committees also prepared the reports on 'The State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, 2011, The Defence Housing Authority Islamabad Bill, 2007, The Islamabad Consumers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2007, The Pakistan Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill, 2011, The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2001, The Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils (Amendment) Bill, 2011 and The Private Power and Infrastructure Board Bill, 2010 for passage from the Lower House.
