Two killed in clash between two groups

At least two persons lost their lives in an armed clash sparked between Sunni Tehreek and banned outfit Sipah Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) at Godhra in the limits of New Karachi Industrial Area. According to police and eye-witnesses, two persons were killed and four others injured at Godhra sector 11-G in an armed clash that triggered between two religious parties before Iftar.
Both religious groups started indiscriminate firing on the rivals that led to kill two persons namely Ghulam Dastagir son of Ahmed and Taufeeq son of Mohammad Hussain while four other injured include Akhter son of Iqbal, Shahnaz Bibi, Siraj son of Abdul Rehman and received bullets wounds. The deceased and injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
All commercial and social activities in the area came to standstill after the incident. Later, heavy contingents of police and rangers were deployed to maintain peace in the area. Meanwhile, the leader of banned outfit SSP Tariq Mehboob claimed that the victim Ghulam Dastagir was an activist of his organisation. He also condemned the said incident and demanded to the government to take action against culprits.
