Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa inaugurated the Cambodian Consulate General here at Zahoor Elahi Road on Sunday. Speaking on this occasion, he said that he was grateful to PML-Q leaders Ch Shujaat Hussain, Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Ch Pervaiz Elahi for providing him an opportunity to inaugurate the Cambodian Consulate General office.
He said that Cambodia had elected Ch Salik Hussain as Consulate General which was a great honour for Pakistan adding this made a history that a youngest person has become Cambodian consulate general.
He hoped that Ch Salik Hussain would try his level best to develop good ties between Pakistan and Cambodia. He said it would open an avenue of new era and corridor for trade and interaction between the two countries which would also help further strengthen relations in the region.
Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that about 30 years ago father of Ch Salik Hussain had become the Consulate General of South Korea terming it a family legacy. He said that Ch Pervaiz Elahi had also done a great work with China and other Asian countries for developing good relations adding that Pakistan's future lies in Asia. He said, it was a good omen that forces which was moving ahead in South East Asia like Cambodia, Vietnam and ASEAN countries.
He said that good relations between Cambodia and Pakistan would leave good impact on South East Asia relationship. He advised Ch Salik to arrange a visit of media delegation from Lahore to Cambodia which would help in further promoting ties. Later, talking to media Punjab Governor Latif Khosa said that Pakistan was on the road to success and progress, adding that foreign reserves and remittances are on high side. Regarding micro and macro economy, he said, there was nothing to worry about it.
