Shabbir Shah condemns youth's detention

25 Aug, 2011

Senior All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah has strongly condemned the arbitrary detention of Kashmiri youth by Indian police in occupied Kashmir on Wednesday. Shabbir Shah said that since 2008, Kashmir was witnessing a peaceful uprising but hundreds of Kashmiri youth were killed and thousands had been put in different jails, KMS reported.
The APHC leader urged the people to celebrate Eid-ul Fitr with austerity. "Slaves that are not free economically, socially and politically can't celebrate Eid like the way it is celebrated elsewhere. On Eid, the nation whose cultural identity is under the influence of oppressor should remember the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the Kashmir cause."
