Smuggling bid foiled

The Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Lahore of the customs has foiled different attempts of smuggling of goods worth Rs 23.5 million. According to a spokesmen ASO staff under the supervision of Assistant collector Toqueer Dar and Superintendent Abdul Hameed Bhatti captured 7 smuggled vehicles worth Rs 13 million, while in another incident some other goods were captured by the organisation including 28,800 DVD's made in China worth Rs 2.8 million.
Some people were trying to smuggle these DVDs from Peshawar to Lahore. Likewise, fire crackers made in China 58 cartons, 20,880 in quantity of worth 4.1 million. 960 KG Perafile vaccine of worth 1 million, ladies napkin 379 cartons of worth 1.5 million and a big lot of Indian goods worth Rs 1.1 million were recovered by the organisation. Collector Lahore Khawaja Umer Mehdi acknowledged the efforts of ASO staff to stop smuggling, the spokesman added.-PR
