Emirates SkyCargo - the cargo division of Emirates Airline - has achieved yet another milestone in Pakistan. The local SkyCargo Karachi Station has set a company record by hauling 52.87 tons of cargo in the belly of a Boeing 777-300ER from Karachi to Dubai.
The average load carried by Boeing 777-300 ER ranges from 25-30 tons and this record exceeds the industry average by almost double the load. The record-breaking shipment consisted of primarily meat exports coupled with some leather goods. The exports were destined for Dubai and onward for Jeddah, Tehran, Bahrain and Kuwait.
Commenting on the achievement, Faisal Yaqoob, Cargo Manager Pakistan said: "This record is an example of initiative and tremendous teamwork by the local team. SkyCargo's success can be attributed to the consistent quality of our products, services and our ability to deliver to our customers over the years. We hope to keep achieving record breaking heights in the future as well."
This hallmark record marks not only the stellar performance of SkyCargo in Pakistan but also how Emirates is focusing on facilitating trade and international business by overcoming export barriers and operating to destinations world-wide. The airline currently serves 114 destinations world-wide and continues to expand its cargo network. Emirates SkyCargo operations have consistently registered a strong performance with load factors increasing over time, indicating Pakistan's strong cargo potential.-PR
