Armed robbers looted around rupees four million from a private bank in a broad daylight in the limits of Pirabad Police Station here on Friday, police said. According to details, seven armed robbers barged into the branch of a private bank located at Pirabad at 12:00 noon and held the security guards and employees hostage at gunpoint. The robbers finished the operation within minutes and managed to escape with around Rs 4 million.
Police said although the robbers tried to destroy the security cameras installed at the bank, the same were working properly. They said the police had collected the CCTV footages and initiated formal investigation into the incident. They said an FIR had been lodged on the complaint of the Bank Manager Abdul Rasheed and security guards of the bank had also been held for interrogation.
Meanwhile, police sources at Pirabad Station said that seven armed robbers, who came on a Hi-Roof, entered the branch of a private bank, located near Metro Cinema and held the security guards and staff hostage at gunpoint. They said the police had received CCTV footages of the robbers, who ran away with around Rs 4 million.
