Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that Multan Road project be completed by September 15 so that better travelling facilities could become available to the people as early as possible. Granting approval to the construction of flyovers and an underpass, the Chief Minister directed that these projects be completed with the resources of City District Government.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding development projects, here. The Chief Minister said that infrastructure was of vital importance for speedy development, therefore, special attention was being paid to the development of this sector. He said that development projects were being completed expeditiously and in a transparent manner in the province while horticulture was also being promoted on these projects.
He said that the work was also in progress for making Ferozepur Road a signal-free corridor in view of the increasing load of traffic on the road. He said that flyovers had been completed on Kalma Chowk in a record period of 135 days, which were a role model for development projects in the whole country.
He said that City District Government instead of provincial government would provide resources for the projects. He also constituted a committee for generating additional resources for development projects.
He said that repair and rehabilitation of the roads damaged due to construction of Kalma flyovers be completed at the earliest.
Secretary Commutation and Works Maj (Retd) Azam Salman gave a detailed briefing regarding development projects. Members Provincial Assembly Dr Saeed Elahi, Hafiz Mian Nauman, Chairman Planning and Development, Sector Incharge NLC, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer Lahore, Director General PHA and NESPAK officers were present in the meeting.
