Trader among five killed in separate incidents

At least five persons including an industrialist were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Tuesday. According to police, an owner of textile mill was shot dead at I I Chundrigar road over resistance during robbery bid in the limits of Mithadar police station.
They said the victim Khalid Iqbal, 40, son of Haji Dost Mohammad was intercepted by the armed robbers at I.I Chundrigar road when he along with his assistant namely Haider Zaman was on the way to office after withdrawal of Rs 0.8 million cash from bank. They said the armed riders fired multiple shots on Khalid when he offered resistance during robbery bid. Resultantly Khalid died on the spot.
The bandits managed to flee from the scene after committing the crime. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for legal formalities. Police said the victim was the resident of Defence and used to run a textile mill and hailed from Chiniot. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Yet another man was shot dead in similar context at Clifton block 2 in the limits of Boat Basin police station. The victim 30-year-old Abid Shah son of Qadir Shah, a resident of Ashfaq Colony Keamari, was gunned down when he offered resistance during mobile snatching bid. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities. Police said the victim used to run a mobile shop in the same area where he resided. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A bullet-riddled body of youth was found from Khajji Ground Nazimabad. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained while he received two bullets on his upper torso. Police said the victim was kidnapped before he was murdered. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue till identification.
A three-day old body was found in the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained while police found a three-day old body from Korangi. The body was shifted to JPMC and later moved to Edhi Morgue. A man was crushed to death at Korangi Crossing in the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station. The victim Ahmed Masih, 40, son of Shabbir Masih, a resident of Mehmoodabad, was knocked by speedy vehicle at Korangi Crossing. Resultantly he died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC and later handed over his heirs.
