Taiwan stocks end flat

Taiwan stocks ended flat on Friday, as losses in cement counters offset the gains in tourism shares. Banking shares were up 0.25 percent after Taiwan's financial regulator said it will ease restrictions on Taiwanese banks operating in China. The main TAIEX index fell 0.7 points to 7,757.06, after opening up 0.56 percent.
The cement sub-index shed 1.26 percent, while tourism counters were up 1.07 percent. Electronics shares lost 0.17 percent. The Taiwan dollar weakened 0.21 percent to T$29.020. Foreign investors were net buyers on Thursday, picking up T$10.737 billion.
