Besides seeing family members, relatives and friends to share Eid joyness with them, people also remember their late loved ones and visited graveyards to offer Fateha for their souls. After Eid prayer, people start visiting cemeteries to pray for the dead, following the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), however, many prefer to go after Fajr prayer.
A large number of people were observed seen reciting Quranic verses and offering Fateha at the graves of their family members and friends on the first two days of Eid-ul-Fitr. They also showered petals and laid wreath on the graves of their dear and near ones with gleam faces and eyes full of tears.
Usman, who was present at the grave of his father at H-10 graveyard, said that he comes here after Fajr prayer every year on Eid day. "I recall the days when I used to do Eid shopping with my father, offer Eid prayer with him and celebrate the whole day enjoying. Now I feel alone without him," said Usman. Flower sellers also set up stalls at the gate of graveyards so that people buy petals, flower sheets and rose water for the graves of their loved ones.
