Tehsil officer, building inspector arrested for misappropriation

Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab arrested Tehsil Officer Planning and Co-ordination, TMA Sheikhupura, Ejaz Chughtai and Building Inspector Shehzad Ahmad on charges of corruption and misappropriation of Rs 9.01 million in commercialisation fee of the TMA.
Anti-Corruption Investigation Team recovered Rs 0.766 million from the accused persons while Director Anti-Corruption Lahore Region Zulfiqar Ghuman widened the scope of investigation and constituted 5-member Investigation Team to probe into the matter.
According to the details, DCO Sheikhupura sent a reference to Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab on the corruption in TMA Sheikhupura and pointed out that the Tehsil Officer Planning and Co-ordination, TMA Sheikhupura, Ejaz Chughtai and Building Inspector Shehzad Ahmad are involved in corruption and mis-appropriation of Rs 9.01 million in commercialisation fee of TMA Sheikhupura.
Director ACE Lahore Zulfiqar Ghuman directed Deputy Director ACE Sheikhupura Tariq Mehmood to immediately register a case and arrest the accused. A case, on the basis of the reference, was registered in Police Station ACE Sheikhupura and both the accused were taken into custody. Investigation Team of Anti-Corruption recovered Rs 0.766 million from the accused persons so far and physical remand of the accused has been obtained for further recovery.
Zulfiqar Ghuman constituted a 5-member Investigation Team comprising of Deputy Director ACE Sheikhupura Tariq Mehmood, Deputy Director ACE Okara Rana Khalid Mehmood, Assistant Director Nankana Sahib Aftab Ahmad, Circle Officer ACE Nankana Sahib Mian Arshad and Circle Office ACE Sheikhupura Abid Joya. Anyone involved in corruption during investigation process will also be held without discrimination and, of course, more arrests are expected in this case, told Director ACE Zulfiqar Ghuman.
