The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday claimed to have arrested an alleged militant involved in several bank robberies in Karachi. According to CID officials, the suspect, who belonged to the Hizbullah Parachinar Group (Shia), was arrested at Tariq Road after a brief encounter. They also claimed to have recovered a Kalashnikov, two hand grenades and looted money amounting to Rs 0.23 million from his possession.
Meanwhile, SSP Aslam Khan said the suspect committed several bank robberies in Karachi to generate funds for his organisation. He said the accused got terror training in Parachinar.
