Defence Day: CCPO directs police officials to remain alert

On the occasion of Defence Day (6 September) strict vigilance will be maintained against criminals, anti-social and anti-state elements. Effective surveillance and monitoring system will be made at all entry and exit points of the city and no stone would be left unturned for protection of life and property of the masses.
This was stated by CCPO here on Saturday. He further directed officers and officials of Lahore Police to remain alert and perform their security duties with dedication and commitment.
In his written order regarding security arrangements for Defence Day 6 September, CCPO directed all divisional SPs to take effective action against criminals and terrorists to bring them into the ambit of law, alongwith making unannounced, snap checkings at important points of the city. CCPO said that in order to eradicate crime and the criminals, Lahore Police should work as a disciplined, focused and with dedicated teamwork in order to achieve the desired results.
CCPO said that long-term effective measures are being taken against terrorist elements and to further improve law and order situation in the city, for which special training system of Elite Force, Quick Response Force and other branches of Lahore Police is being further augmented and streamlined.
Ahmad Raza Tahir also directed strict legal action against criminals involved in land grabbing, drug pushing and other heinous activities. CCPO warned that no dereliction of duty would be tolerated on the occasion of Defence Day. Ahmad Raza Tahir pointed out that comprehensive security can not be assured without co-operation of the people and citizens, therefore it is essential for them to help Lahore Police in identifying suspicious elements present in their surroundings.
