192 criminals held; 23 cars and 162 mobile phones recovered

Islamabad Police during its special campaign arrested 192 street criminals as well as dacoits and recovered 23 stolen cars, 162 mobile phones and other looted commodities worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan directed all police officials to devise effective plan to curb street crimes and incidents of armed robberies, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Monday.
He said that the IGP directed all SPs, SDPOs and patrolling officers for effective policing as well as vigilance in their areas. As per the directions and special plan devised for various circles, record of those persons ever remained involved in street crimes was also obtained by the police officials and their monitoring was ensured, he added.
The spokesman said that the City Circle Police during the current year arrested 34 street criminals, Saddar Circle police arrested 93 persons, and Industrial Circle police arrested 38 while Rural Zone nabbed 27 street criminals during the ongoing year. A total 162 of stolen or snatched mobile phones and 23 stolen vehicles were also recovered from them, he added. IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan appreciated this overall performance after reviewing a report in this regard; however, he directed all police officials to curb the menace in the year.
