At least 350 people including men, women and children performing their annual Hindu rituals at the popularly known as 'Nani Hinglaj' hills, 250 kms north west of Karachi, have been rescued successfully trapped in flash floods after monsoon rains, rescue sources told newsmen.
"It has been joint effort of the Edhi Foundation, Pakistan Navy, Coast Guards which led to rescue of these Hindu families," said an official of Edhi Foundation here on Monday. He said the pilgrims hail from Hub (Balochistan), Lasbela and Karachi. The Hinglaj shrine of the Hindus is located on banks of River Hingol at Makran. The reputation of Hinglaj is as the holy place of the minority Hindus. One has to go by road via main Karachi - Quetta Highway upto Zero Point for about 75 miles and then by road towards the west via Lyari town.
