A malevolent gunny-bag-body trend has picked up in the city as bodies of three more persons including an activist of Awami National Party were found stuffed in gunny bags at various places, here on Monday. According to police, an activist of ANP was found dead at Gulzar Hijri in the jurisdiction of Sacchal police station. The incident took place near Yasir Apartment where unidentified men threw a gunny bag and fled from the scene.
They said police on being informed by the locals, recovered the body of one Mushtaq Khan, an activist of ANP and vice president of Gulshan Degree College unit. SHO Azhar Iqbal said the victim, who received single bullet on his head, was kidnapped, tortured and then murdered. He said the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities.
Meanwhile, ANP spokesman Qadir Khan said the victim was the vice president of Gulshan Degree College unit and was kidnapped in wee hours Monday from Sacchal area. Condemning the killing, Qadir demanded of the government to arrest culprits. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Another body of a youth was found stuffed in a gunny bag in the remit of Pak Colony police station. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained, while police claimed to have found the body from Lyari Naddi Dhobi Ghat. Police said the culprits had applied severe torture methods on the body of the victim. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A beheaded body of a man was found at Orangi Town in the precincts of Pakistan Bazaar police station. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained. Police said the victim, whose head and hands were missing, was murdered after severe torture. They said the culprits stuffed the body in a gunny bag and threw the same at sector 14-B of Orangi Town.
The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. A 10-day old bullet-riddled body was found from the bushes located at Shoe Market in the limits of Garden police station. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained. The body was shifted to CHK for post mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. A case was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of the State and probe mounted into the case.
