Rising trend persisted on the wholesale grain market on Tuesday as supply was tight from upcountry centres after rains, dealers said. On the cereals side, wheat old (bardan) and wheat new both gained Rs 30 to Rs 2600-2615, other items retained overnight levels in process of trading, dealers said.
On the grams sector, grams Australia No 2 picked up Rs 75 to Rs 4725-4925, yellow peas Canada low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4100 and best type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 5300, yellow peas Canada dal low type gained Rs 450 to Rs 4500 and good type gained Rs 500 to Rs 4700, yellow peas Ukraine low quality was up by Rs 150 to Rs 3950 and good type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4100 and yellow peas Ukraine dal low variety was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 4400 and best type was higher by Rs 50- to Rs 4600, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh gained Rs 50 to Rs 3750-3775, other types maintained overnight levels in process of trading, they said. On the seed side, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1200 and good type appreciated by Rs 65 to Rs 1225, they said.
