Medical treatment of Sarabjit Singh: LHC seeks home department's reply

The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry here Thursday sought reply from home department by September 20 in a petition seeking medical check-up and treatment of Indian convicted spy Sarabjit Singh. A bar member Awais Sheikh submitted that his client developed heart disease due to long captivity.
He said without proper sunshine and physical exercise, his client has been suffering from backache, high blood pressure, eating disorder, and high cholesterol. The counsel also requested the Court to allow him to teach "Yoga" to Singh during every meeting in jail to get him out of depression, stress, and to improve his both physical and mental health.
Advocate Sheikh further asked the Court to take notice of IG prison's comments in a report wherein he said: "Frequent meetings with a prisoner of enemy country are not feasible."
