The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the Chief Minister Punjab to initiate an aerial spray for mass eradication of the dengue mosquito as despite his aggressive campaign to reduce the spread of the dengue fever virus the situation still seems to be out of control.
In a letter the LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik urged the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to arrange an aerial spray through the Department of Plant Protection to help stave off the spread of the deadly virus. He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) understand that the Chief Minister Punjab was doing its best by putting into motion all available resources to control the epidemic and they are achieving some success as well but definitely the virus is still needed to be controlled powerfully and the aerial spray is globally known methodology to control the epidemics.
Shahzad Ali Malik hoped the Chief Minister Punjab would direct the plant Protection Department to start aerial spray without any further delay to control the epidemic. Meanwhile, the LCCI President appreciated the formation of emergency special committees at town level to ensure co-ordinated efforts to control dengue virus. He said that mass awareness campaign launched by the chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif would definitely yield results.
