PRCS members voice concern at demolition of building

Professor Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Wali Khan Durrani (Retd) and other life members of Sindh Branch of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) have expressed concern over what they claim the rapid and hasty demolition of property worth millions of rupees owned by PRCS in Karachi and have demanded judicial inquiry into the matter.
A building on plot Nos. 96 and 97 measuring more than 200 sq. yds. owned by Pakistan Red Crescent Society situated at main Tara Chand Road, Keemari, Karachi is under rapid demolition for quiet some time. This building was constructed on the said plot to establish a medical dispensary for the poor people of the locality. After some time earlier, the dispensary was closed down and the building was being used for residential purpose by some officials of the Society. The building is now being demolished and it is apprehended that the property has been sold to some private party unauthorisedly. The members have said that the assets of PRCS are public property and can not be disposed of without a prior approval of the competent authority.-PR
