Provincial Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Friday that the government would ensure protection of working women at their place of posting and assured implementation on Anti-Sexual Violence Harassment Law 2010. This he said while addressing a seminar on "Violence against Women" organised by AASHA Organisation.
The working women will be provided full legal cover by the government in matter involving sexual harassment at their workplaces. Man and women share equal responsibility in any civilisation, therefore, the society as a whole to rise against sexual violence and should launch joint struggle towards this end. We have to change the atmosphere to stop the occurrence of such incidents and to achieve the desired goal; we have to change the mindset of the society. Education and awareness can play key role in getting rid of this menace.
The Minister said we all are bound to respect humanity and maintained that we have to work for promoting dignity of humanity in the society. Narrow-minded and extremist elements are protecting terrorist in the society, he said, adding getting rid of violence and fanaticism was a big Jihad. The ANP and Peoples Party are both progressive and liberal political forces, which consider that men and women are equal in all spheres of life.
Late Fakhr-e-Afghan Khan, Bacha Khan was the greatest reformer of 20th century who waged relentless struggle for the rights of women and education in 1921. ANP in line with the policy of non-violence propagated by late "Khudai Khidmatgaar" was struggling hard to get rid of violence and other conservative thinking and establishment of enlightened society.
