Flood in Nari River and Kaboloa Lake after heavy torrential rains in the upper parts of Balochistan submerged at-least 40 villages, displacing a number of families in the Tambo tehsil of Nasirabad district on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner, Nasirabad told reporters here that the district government has already launched relief activities in the rain-affected areas besides shifting the affected families to safer places. "Provincial irrigation and other department officials along-with necessary equipment have been dispatched to the area for augmenting the relief operation", he said, adding a team headed by the Assistant Commissioner has been constituted to monitor the ongoing relief activities and asses the losses caused by rains in the affected areas.
He sought the non-government organisations' (NGOs) assistance in the relief activities carried out by the government in the rain-hit areas of the province.
