Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti Friday said that the government top priority is to protect religious places, saying that steps are being placed in this regard.
Talking to a delegation led by Mualana Asad Jan, caretaker of the ancient and historic Jamia mosque Dildar Garhi of district Charsadda, he said that the religious places have great respect in the society, saying the mosques are considered as place of tranquillity, brotherhood, and harmony. He stressed that the mosque rehabilitation should take place while keeping in view its ancient and historic significance. He said that ANP politics is based on serving nation, adding that the party founder, Bacha Khan and his followers have had rendered numerous sacrifices in this regard.
Mualana Asad, while exchanging his views, informed that the ANP founder Bacha Khan had offered prayer in the Jamia mosque. The members of the delegation stressed the need of maximum allocation of funds for the Jamia mosque damaged by last devastating floods and torrential rains in the province.
Later, the chief minister handed over 35 lac (3.5 million) cheque to Malauna Asad Jan for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the mosque. The delegation members included Alamgir Khan, Abdul Rasheed, Shahid Nawaz and Khairul Qayyum. Chief minister's special advisor, Syed Masoom Shah and DCO district Charsadda were also present on the occasion.
