Visit to Norway to boost bilateral ties: Firdous

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan arrived from Norway, here on Sunday, after completing a three-day official visit where she received an award on behalf of Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The Bridge Builder Award 2011 was conferred on the Prime Minister for his efforts to improve Pakistan's relations with western countries and in recognition of his services for strengthening of democracy, promotion of human rights and his efforts for normalisation of Indo-Pak relations.
During her visit, Dr Firdous attended official meetings with Vice Chairman of Norwegian parliament Per Kristian Foss, Dy. Foreign Minister of Norway and Conservative Party opposition leader in Norwegian Parliament Ms. Erna Solberg. She also met a high-level business delegation of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) in order to promote mutual investment among the two countries.
She discussed matters of mutual interest pertaining to bilateral relations and also had a meeting with a representative group of businessmen from federation of chambers of commerce of Oslo.
