Fruit and vegetable prices have increased amid heavy rains in the country including the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Association of Wholesale Vegetable and Fruit Market officials told APP that the prices of different fruits, including apples, grapes and banana have increased. "The supply decreased by 200 trucks to 400 trucks, affecting the prices," they said.
They said that vegetable prices also increased owing to rain. Fruit and vegetables at the fields are not affected, but their supply to the wholesale market has reduced as heavy rain has been recorded in the fruit and vegetable growing areas of the country.
