The Federal Board of Revenue has issued electronic notices to over 12,000 employers to file annual statement of deduction of income tax from salary for Tax Year-2011. The FBR issued e-notices to over and above 12,000 ''non-filer'' employers here on Thursday.
According to the FBR notices, the FBR will initiate legal action against the employers who failed to submit the annual statement of deduction of income tax from salary for Tax Year-2011 under Income Tax Ordinance 2001. One of the notices issued by the FBR to an employer here on Thursday says: "You have not furnished the Annual Statement of Deduction of Income Tax from Salary for Tax Year-2011 required to be filed under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, so far.
You are, hereby, required to e-file the Annual Statement of Deduction of Income Tax from Salary for the said tax year immediately at eFBR Portal (https://e.fbr.gov.pk), in order to avoid legal implications, the electronic notice added. The FBR has also sent a copy of the notice to the concerned Large Taxpayer Unit and Regional Tax Office, sources added.
