Lady health workers, supervisors hold protest

Lady Health Workers (LHWs) and Supervisors on Friday took to streets again to press the government to release their salaries stuck up for the last of four months apart from upgrading their scales. A large number of LHWs and supervisors who reached from outside Lahore gathered in front of Punjab Assembly and staged a protest that continue for about over six hours.
The protesting women who were also carrying their children expressed concern over indifferent attitude of rulers towards their plight. During the protest, protestors also had minor scuffle with police. Traffic on the Mall Road remained blocked that caused much hardship for the commuters. Traffic jam was seen at various adjoining roads much to inconvenience of people. On assurance of administration to resolve their issues, protestors dispersed after staging over six hours long protest.
