Over 2.2 million children would be administered anti-polio vaccine drops and a dose of Vitamin-A in 18 town of Karachi, during a three-day drive against polio scheduled from October 24 to 26, said Sindh Minister for Human Right, Ms. Nadia Gabol on Sunday.
In a message on commencement of the anti-polio campaign, she said that teams comprising 30,000 volunteers have been constituted to administer anti-polio vaccine drops in Sindh.
She said awareness drive about the menace of polio have been launched while the Ulema would have to play their active role so as to save the children from life-long disability. Ms Nadia Gabol said elimination of polio is among the top priorities of the government and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard, the Minister added.
She said that access to basic health facilities is right of every citizen. Government is taking effective steps while media and NGOs are also playing significant role in this regard, she added.
