Provincial Minister for Labour and Auqaf Punjab Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that labourers are the backbone of our industry and government is spending Rs 4.1 billion for the provision of state of the art healthcare facilities to the labourers and their families.
He said that government has reserved Rs 42.30 billion for the provision of healthcare facilities to the people in the province.
While talking to a delegation of people, labourers and Ulema at his residence, Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi said that Labour Department is utilising available resources for the treatment of dengue virus victim and PESSI governing body has approved Rs 3 crore for the treatment of dengue fever patients.
He said that on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, dengue fever treatment is being provided in 21 dispensaries and nine cell separator machines have been provided whereas 15 more machines have been purchased. He said that in order to enhance medical facilities for dengue patients, new diagnostic centres for dengue virus have been set up in the city and latest blood test machines have been provided at these centres and availability of blood test experts have ensured.
Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi said that Ulema have deep respect among the masses, therefore, they should communicate protective steps regarding dengue virus to the public in their individual as well as collective contacts. He said that with the co-operation of people, especially the Ulema dengue virus would completely be wiped out. He said that Ulema could successfully execute the awareness campaign in mosques, especially during prayer hours to the society. He said that we will eliminate dengue virus with the co-operation of people and all available resources are being utilised to overcome the dengue virus.
