22 foreigners, 7 Nadra employees handed over to FIA

Vigilance team of National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has handed over 22 foreigners along with Nadra staff involved in an attempt of getting computerised national identity cards from Akhrotabad, Balochistan to Federal Investigation Agency which will further investigate the case, Nadra report revealed.
The report stated that Nadra Vigilance cell team and security agencies conducted an operation jointly and nabbed the illegal aliens (most of Afghan origin) applying for illegal CNICs. While seven suspected employees were handed over to FIA on Nadra's complaint.
Nadra has taken strict action against its staff involved in illegal activities and most of them have been punished and terminated. The Deputy Chairman Nadra Tariq Malik said that Nadra was using technology tools to study the trends of over-blown attestations by some individuals and also keeping an eye on our own employees helping to circumvent the process. He said that the authority is vigilant to take notice of suspicious attempts to obtain CNICs using fake documents and instantly investigate such cases to handover correct information to LEAs for further investigation.
