Four persons accused of heinous crimes held

At-least four suspects involved in several heinous crimes were apprehended in separate raids in various parts of the metropolis on Monday. According to police sources, Crime Investigation Department (CID) claimed to have nabbed an alleged target killer.
According to SP Mazhar Mashwani, the accused was a wanted criminal and was hiding in the city after killing of two persons in Shikarpur. He was arrested along with a TT pistol. Mashwani said Shikarpur police has also been informed about the arrest and the accused would be handed over to them after completing initial course of interrogation.
Meanwhile, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested an alleged kidnapper. They said the suspect identified as Arsalan alias Mannu alias Mamu was arrested with a TT pistol at Block-16 Federal B Area after a brief encounter. They informed the arrest was made on a tipoff, while his others accomplices managed to flee under the cover of heavy gunshots. According to the officials, the accused was involved in over a dozen cases of crimes including kidnapping for ransom, vehicle snatchings, robberies, etc.
In yet another incident, an alleged criminal was arrested by Defence Police. Police said the accused identified as Abid Hussain son of Niaz Ahmed was arrested after an encounter. They said they have also recovered weapons from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway. Similarly, Mobina Town police detained an accused Abdul Rehman when he was trying to flee after snatching valuables from a citizen, namely Kashif, at Abul Hassan Isphani Road. Police said that they have recovered a TT pistol and three mobile phones from his possession. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
