A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) Tuesday issued notices in a petition regarding shifting of Darakhshan police station as well as residence cum office of a CID police official from purely residential area of Clifton Town to some other place.
The bench comprising Chief Justice of SHC Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Ahmed Alim Sheikh after initial hearing ordered to issue notices to Advocate General Sindh and Home Department. The residents of the locality have moved an application to the Chief Justice SHC requesting him to order shifting of the police station and the residence-cum-office of CID police official from the residential area as these have endangered the security of their area. The CJ converted it into constitutional petition. It may be recalled that eight persons were killed in bomb blast at the residence-cum-office of SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam in Darakhshan police jurisdiction on September 19 last.
