PML-N leaders, including Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, are holding meetings with party workers and legislators apart from traders to get support for the October 28 rally.
PML-N legislators including Hamza Shahbaz are holding public gatherings in different parts of the provincial metropolis to mobilise party workers and supporters for participation in the Friday's rally. Representatives of traders' organisations of Lahore City under the aegis of PML-N Traders Wing also announced to participate in the rally. In the route of the rally from Nasir Bagh to Bhatti Chowk, big portraits of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz have been displayed.
Shahbaz, while addressing a gathering of representative traders' organisations of Lahore City under the aegis of PML-N Traders Wing, said that on October 28, Pakistani people will remove those rulers who are involved in corruption, plunder, unemployment, poverty and bow their heads before foreigners. He asked President Zardari to come to Lahore and himself see that there is no business; factories and shops are closed, and export orders are cancelled. After giving leniency to the federal rulers for three and a half years, now the time of decision has reached and every child of Pakistan will not rest content till the achievement of the goal, he said.
The Chief Minister said that on October 28, traders' community and people from every walk of life will reach Nasir Bagh and he will take the people into confidence on some important matters and make important announcements. The Chief Minister said Pakistan is under debt of 64 billion dollars and neither there is any trade nor any business in the country. "Today, every child of Pakistan has come out for the solidarity and protection of Pakistan and he will move ahead by leading the people on October 28 and will not hesitate to sacrifice his life in this struggle," he said.
Hamza, addressing a public gathering in Lahore on Wednesday said that present regime led by Asif Zardari has brought the country to the verge of disaster and there is need for collective efforts to rid the country of looters and plunderers. He said that Zardari would have to account for his corruption and he should beware of the wrath of the people against the rulers.
He said that the cronies of Zardari consider him a great politician and it is true if politics is the name of corruption, deceit and reneging from promises. He said that President Zardari and his corrupt gang are plundering the country of 1000 billion rupees per annum and weakening Pakistan's economy. He said that Railways, PIA, Steel Mills and other national institutions have become bankrupt due to loot and plunder of Zardari government.
He said that Asif Zardari would have to be removed if the country is to be saved from corruption, load shedding, price hike, lawlessness and economic crisis. He said that contrary to Zardari government, PML-N would select competent and honest persons for national institutions so that the damage done by the present government could be made up. He said that people would have to come out in the interest of future generation because it is the time to rid the country of loot and plunder.
He said that October 28 will send a clear message to Zardari that the days of his rule are numbered and he is fast approaching accountability. He said that people of Lahore are determined and they will revive the spirit of restoration of judiciary on October 28 to remove the corrupt rulers.
