Ministry of Commerce is in process of switching trade arrangements from existing `Positive List' to `Negative List' of importable items from India. The Ministry has requested all Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Trade Associations and stakeholders to identify importable items from India to be included in the `Negative List'.
Suggestions and recommendations sent by the stakeholders are under process in the Ministry for compiling the negative list for trade with India, said a statement issued by Ministry of Commerce here. According to the statement, the Secretary Commerce will meet members of the various chambers and trade associations from October 27 to November 4 to discuss issues and concerns before finalisation of the Negative List. According to the schedule the Ministry would hold a meeting on October 27 with representatives of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Pakistan Pharmaceutical Importers Association and Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association in Lahore.
Similarly a meeting would be held on October 28 with the representatives of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association, All Pakistan Denim Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Karachi Cotton Association, Pakistan Cotton Fashion Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufactures Exporters Association and Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association.
On October 31, the meeting would be held at Planning Commission Islamabad with the representatives of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Surgical Instrument Manufacturers Association of Pakistan, Pakistan Sports Good Manufacturers Exporters Association, Pakistan Cutlery and Stainless Utensils Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association and Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
The Ministry of Commerce would hold a meeting at Planning Commission "P" block Islamabad on November 1 with the representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, All Pakistan Marble Industries Association, Pakistan Gemstones and Minerals Association of Mining Processing and Trade and All Pakistan Furniture Exporters Association.
On November 3, the meeting would be held at office of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the representatives of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association, Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association and All Pakistan PVC Pipe Manufacturers Association.
The last meeting of its kind would be held at headoffice of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Karachi on November 4 with the representatives of All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Pakistan Tyre Importers and Dealers Association.
