The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice here on Wednesday sought reply from federal government by November 04 in a petition challenging appointment of Admiral Fasih Bokhari (Retd), as chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffrey filed the petition and pleaded that mandatory procedure was not followed for the appointment of the Chairman NAB.
He said federal government had not consulted opposition, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Chief Justice of Pakistan, which was a violation of the constitution. He further said that the government action was based on mala fide intentions and appointment of Fasih Bokhari should be declared null and void.
